Administrative Message sound every time I start ICUII Administrative Message sound every time I start ICUII If after installing ICUII 8.0.5 you are hearing "Administrative Message" every time you start ICUII, and it becomes annoying. You can disable it by either of the options below: Option 1: 98/Me/2000/XP Users: 1: Right mouse click on your ICUII desktop icon 2: Choose "Properties" from the menu that appears 3: Select the button called "Find Target" on the new window that pops up You should now be in your ICUII folder 4: Open the file called icuii.ini (it may only say icuii but is easy to locate as the icon is a notepad with a gold wheel/cog on it) 5: Directly under the [General] section add this line of text: NoNagAdmin=1 6: Close the icuii.ini file and save. Start ICUII and you'll only get the message of the day, if the message changes. Option 1: VISTA USERS: 1: Right mouse click on your ICUII desktop icon 2: Choose "Open File Location " from the menu that appears. You should now be in your ICUII folder 3: Locate and delete the file called icuii.ini (it may only say icuii but is easy to locate as the icon is a notepad with a gold wheel/cog on it) 4: At the top of the ICUII folder, click on "compatibility files" button 5: Directly under the [General] section add this line of text: NoNagAdmin=1 6: Close the icuii.ini file and save. Start ICUII and you'll only get the message of the day, if the message changes. Option 2: 1: On ICUII, go to Settings | Configure Sounds 2: Select "Administrative Message" 3: Click on "No Sound" 4: Click on "OK" Doing this will also disable the admin messages that will pop up from time to time, so if you use Option 2, make sure you keep an eye out for specific Admin Messages. << Back to ICUII FAQs |
